AHSA's 4-Pillars of Education

Fully Personalized for Success

Education should not be one-size-fits-all.

The key to learning is engagement. When educational goals and instruction are to tailored to the student and their needs, students rediscover their love of learning.

Our personalized approach to learning offers tailored curriculum options, personalized instruction, mentorship, and life-changing educational experiences- all customized to the individual student's needs.

Success Through Support

Growth Through Nurturing Mentorships.

Traditional education at AHSA is challenging, expectations are high, but a helping hand that is occasionally, so necessary is always there to support the student to persevere and succeed.

AHSA is proud of its nurturing staff, whose student-centric approach place students at the center of learning. Their genuine love of teaching inspires the love of learning required to challenge students to push past their expectations of what they can achieve.

Focus on Family and Community

Education that nurtures the whole student.

Investing in your child’s education is an important decision, and we know a parent/guardian goal is to ensure the best educational option for their child while instilling community values.

With our personalized approach to student learning, the family as a unit is integral in decisions about the student's educational journey.

Safe Spaces & Rigorous Programs

Safe classrooms & fully accredited programs.

Our academically rigorous curriculums make sure students stay aligned to state standards. Student athletes also benefit from NCAA approved curriculums.

We also offer post-secondary options to students who would like to earn college/university credits simultaneously with one of our partnered institutions, including Miami Dade College and the University of South Florida.

AHSA Mission Statement

American High School Academy Schools' mission is to educate the whole person by ensuring an outstanding, dynamic learning environment, which recognizes and nurtures the unique talents, and gifts of the individual student; vigorously preparing them for college, life's journey, and providing outstanding educational services to our global community.

One School. Multiple Solutions.

AHSA Enrollment Process

With our customized approach, we’re able to create an educational plan tailored for the student.

The first part of our admissions process is to schedule an appointment with the Admissions Representative to learn more about AHSA programs and conduct a credit evaluation. All registrations must be done in person with valid identification and an official transcript.

Once you enroll full-time at AHSA, you will meet with the school Principal, who is a Certified School Counselor who will guide your time at AHSA for academic planning and scheduling.

AHSA's rolling enrollment allows students to start their classes at any time of the year. With our personalized approach to learning, class begins once students enroll. The student will have the flexibility to work at their pace through the home-based program or in-person and be monitored throughout.

AHSA Academic Programs

Academic Programs Overview

Our curriculum is based on individual learning styles, with the offering of different academies to fit the needs of the student. Classes at AHSA are personalized with different instruction methods focusing on student strengths, interests, and learning preferences. In this environment, students stay engaged in learning to achieve mastery of the subject, before moving on to the next level.

Students can enroll at American High School Academy (AHSA) full-time, credit recovery, Honors, Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Enrollment (DE), Adult and alternative learning options, and summer enrichment programs. Student athletes are also assured of NCAA approved courses through our partnership with Florida Virtual Shool and Edgenuity. Student schedules are customized based on whether the student will attend in-person or immerse through online learning. The courses are selected based on student/parent educational expectations.

Virtual School Academy

Are you thinking about homeschooling? There are many ways to homeschool your child, but in Florida you have two basic options:

  • Homeschooling under the homeschool statute: filing a notice of intent with the local superintendent’s office, choosing a curriculum, maintaining a portfolio of educational records and preserving them for two years, and providing annual evaluations to the superintendent. The homeschool local office does not issue a high school diploma.
  • Enrolling your child under an umbrella school: Florida allows parents to enroll their child as private school students within approved schools, while still educating them at home. AHSA can offer you the benefits of attending on a flexible schedule while obtaining the most educational curriculum based on the needs of your child. We offer social experience, while obtaining a high school diploma and graduation ceremony. We could turn any field trip into a learning experience!

AHSA gives you the opportunity to personalize your learning experience aligned to state standards. Our student friendly online home-based learning help students grades 6-12 develop the skills necessary to succeed in school.

Please feel free to contact our office to make an appointment for further information.

English Language Learners (ELL) Program

AHSA understands the importance of obtaining a high school diploma, and we are willing to assist students whose native language is not English to accomplish this goal. We have trained personnel to assist the student to master the English language while working on meeting the 24 required credits in obtaining a high school diploma, with no state assessments.

The curriculum organizes your English learning into 12 levels of proficiency. Each level can be completed in a four-week session in an Intensive English Program. The student’s level will be determined through a placement test upon admission.

 Credit Recovery

American High School Academy is fully accredited to offer core and elective courses to secondary students (6th-12th grades). The credits are transferable to students’ primary school as indicated in the signed Credit Recovery Authorization Form. Students can make-up for a previously failed course or under the “drop-out” prevention program to graduate with their cohort group. Our credit recovery can be online or in-person instruction.

NOTE: Authorization from the student's primary school is required to enroll in credit recovery courses. Please download and complete the Credit Recovery Authorization Form in order to apply for enrollment.

High School Completion Program

This program is for students who completed all their high school requirements at a public or charter school, except for the mandated state assessments. Such students are withdrawn as “Certificate of Completion” from their public/charter home school.

We offer a comprehensive general review of English, Reading, and Math, in order to prepare students for college and career readiness. Once the student fulfills all the requirements under the program, they become eligible to receive a high school diploma, apply for the FAFSA, and seek enrollment in a post-secondary institution. This program is offered through our home-based online program.

*If the student would like to attend the “In-Person-Blended Learning Option”, this would incur an additional weekly tuition fee.

Scholarships Available through American High School Academy

AHSA, in partnership with Step Up for Students, provides educational opportunities to empower students to personalize their education and find a learning environment where they can be successful.

The scholarships offer an opportunity to afford private school tuition and other learning resources which address educational needs to students who otherwise could not afford it.  On March 27, 2023, House Bill (HB1) was signed into law expanding available school choice options for all students in Florida. As of the 23-24 school year, the bill eliminated financial eligibility restrictions and the current enrollment cap.
