Homeschooling in Florida: two basic options
There are many ways to homeschool your child, but in Florida you have two basic options under FS 1002.41:
- Homeschooling under the homeschool statute: filing a notice of intent with the local superintendent’s office, choosing a curriculum, keeping a portfolio of educational records for two years, and providing annual evaluations to the superintendent. The local homeschool office does not issue high school diplomas.
- Enrolling your child under an umbrella school: Florida gives parents the choice to enroll their child in a private, public, charter or homeschool program.
A personalized path to an AHSA diploma
AHSA gives you the opportunity to personalize your learning experience, aligned to state standards. Our blended learning options help students in grades 6–12 build the skills they need to succeed in school and close learning gaps. We offer many academic pathways to earn credits toward a high school diploma and graduate from AHSA.
