Full-time high school
NCAA Approved High School for Student Athletes
Our students learn at their own pace, anytime and anywhere, with the support of certified teachers and counselors. If you want a flexible, personalized and challenging education while pursuing athletics, American High School Academy is your best choice.
An NCAA approved high school
American High School Academy is an NCAA approved high school offering approved courses that meet the standards of quality and effectiveness set by the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the largest community of education professionals in the world. Our courses are also aligned with the Florida Standards and the Common Core State Standards.
Florida Virtual School. Our partnership with Florida Virtual School, the nation’s first and largest online public school, gives our students access to more than 190 NCAA-approved courses, including Advanced Placement, honors, electives and career and technical education courses.
A Cognia® accredited school
In addition to being NCAA approved, American High School Academy is proudly Cognia® accredited.
Cognia® is a global, nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts and education service providers. It recognizes schools that meet rigorous standards for productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation and effective leadership.
To earn Cognia accreditation, a school must complete internal and external review. Accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means the school meets Cognia Performance Standards and is committed to continuous improvement. You can find American High School Academy on the Cognia Accredited Schools Registry.
As a Cognia® accredited school, you can trust that AHSA is as committed to your student athlete’s education as you are.
College credit with Miami Dade College and USF
American High School Academy broadens our students’ options with Dual Enrollment programs at Miami Dade College and the University of South Florida. Eligible students take college courses while still in high school, earning high school and college credit at the same time. This can save time and money and build valuable academic and career skills.
Every AHSA student can play sports at a charter or public school
Students must follow and meet their school’s requirements to become a student athlete.
