Our registrar obtains the student’s official transcript when processing the admission application. The student is then enrolled at the appropriate sequential course level based on the transcript record. Our Transfer of Credits page explains how credits are evaluated and transferred into the student’s record at AHSA.
No. Private educational institutions do not require state-mandated examinations to meet graduation requirements.
Students must meet AHSA’s graduation requirements. We take pride in maintaining our students’ academic integrity and helping each student meet them. We perform record audits and issue diplomas only once the student has met all required criteria.
You are our focus! We’re dedicated to the individual needs of our students, with small classes and teachers who care about your success, in a stress-free environment that supports your mental health and well-being.
We also focus on helping you develop as both a student and an adult. Completing your high school diploma with AHSA helps you gain the skills you need to succeed at school and in life.
Yes! AHSA has many student athletes who play sports at local public schools. We offer NCAA-approved core class options and partner with Florida Virtual School (FLVS) to accommodate all student levels. Learn about our NCAA programs.
We create a safe space for students to be themselves. Our classrooms and student areas are designed to promote learning and hands-on activities, with modern furniture where students can relax and move.
AHSA has a zero-tolerance bullying policy. Our school is smaller than a traditional school, and social interaction happens on a personal level. Respect among students and between students and staff is expected and required to remain a student at the school.
Every member of the AHSA community, including staff, students and parents or guardians, is expected to follow the AHSA Code of Ethics.
With personalized instruction, students gain confidence and learn how to interact with their peers and teachers. AHSA students learn to be self-advocates, are encouraged to ask questions in class and schedule time to speak with their teachers.
AHSA offers a wellness and life skills course (required for full-time students) to prepare students for life after high school. We also offer a Dual Enrollment course, SLS – Student Life Skills, to prepare students for success in college.
Through the AHSA Parent Portal, you’ll always have access to your child’s student record. You can see their progress through lessons, assignments and quizzes whenever you want, plus up-to-date attendance and anything else the teacher thinks you should know. Portal access is sent to the registered parent or guardian when your child enrolls.
High school students can get lunch at a nearby cafeteria with parent or guardian approval. Students can also bring their own lunch and snacks, or order Uber Eats, and eat in a designated area.
Students are encouraged to form clubs based on their interests, with approval from AHSA administration. AHSA is also proudly registered as a Key Club, and all students are invited to take part and give back to the community.
We also offer field trips and events like family picnics, Grad Bash and a graduation ceremony. For parents, guardians and the community, we host open houses and educational events.
