BASIC FIRST AID FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WORKPLACE: Program participants learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of injuries and sudden illness. Crucial information on how to deal with emergencies like: bleeding, shock, burns, strains, fractures, allergic reaction, diabetic and seizures. - Individuals who require or desire first aid knowledge and skills focused on adults, children or both, including: emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child care workers, teachers, parents and babysitters.



BASIC LIFE SUPPORT PROGRAM - CPR & AED FOR THE COMMUNITY AND WORKPLACE provides individuals with the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective basic life support in an emergency. This aids person(s) who do not work in the health care field but are occupationally required or just required to have CPR knowledge and skills, such as emergency response teams in business and industry, school bus drivers, adult residential care personnel, child are workers, teachers, parents, and babysitters.


CPR – PRO (PROFESSIONAL LEVEL) –BLS This program has been approved by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS) and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). The program has been also been approved by many state health agencies and may be used to meet the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization’s (JCAHO) Resuscitation Standard -  For Healthcare providers, First Responders & Professional Rescuers in and outside the hospital or for those needing Professional Level Basic Life Support Training as a job requirement.


EMERGRNCY MEDICAL RESPONSE FOR ADULTS (WORKPLACE) - For Adults in the Workplace, a combined CPR, AED, and basic first aid training program is designed specifically to arm laypersons with the minimum knowledge, and skills necessary to provide emergency care for suddenly ill or injured adults during the usually brief interval between, the incident and arrival of emergency medical care professionals.


BLOOD-BORNE PATHOGENS This program assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Blood borne Pathogens Standard. -  For any employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious material as a result of performing designated job duties, including but not limited to: Healthcare Workers, Public Safety Personnel, Housekeeping & Custodial Workers, Education & Correctional Staff and designated First Aid Responders.

FIRST RESPONDER: This course is for individuals who would like beginning knowledge into the emergency medical field, is an available introduction to assisting other medical professionals in the field. Course content includes, but not limited to, introduction into EMS, basic airway management, patient assessments, circulation, basic illnesses and injuries, pediatrics, and basic EMS operations Students will be able to perform these skills during practices which include:

  • Scene size-up
  • Airway management including oxygen administration and use of a bag-valve mask
  • Patient assessments including initial and a focused history for medical and trauma patients
  • Basic recognition and care for medical and trauma emergencies
  • AHA BLS Healthcare Provider CPR
  • Basic ambulance operations

Upon successfully completing any of the healthcare courses above, students will receive an American Safety & Health Institute certification card.  American Health and Safety Institute; who’s mission is to continually improve safety and health education by promoting high standards for members, principles of sound research for curriculum development and the professional development of safety and health Instructors worldwide. ASHI works on a regular and ongoing basis with federal, state, and local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance. ASHI programs have been reviewed by and/or satisfy the requirements of the Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (DOL/OSHA) and Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard (DHS/USCG). ASHI programs are also recognized, endorsed, accepted or approved by state regulatory agencies, includes those licensing Emergency Medical Services, child care, education, public health, labor and others. Additionally, ASHI programs have been found acceptable for meeting requirements established by a wide variety of professional associations, councils, academies and boards.
